Best Speaker Competition

At the Alex Best Speaker competition on Wednesday, contestants, who had proceeded from the preliminary rounds, competed against each other not only with a prepared speech, but also in the impromptu speech division -- a nerve-wracking event! The evening was a beautiful celebration of the power of using one's voice. Of the Seniors, Naledi Jijana triumphed in the isiXhosa competition and Elsje Oosthuizen came out tops in both English and Afrikaans. Juniors Lilitha Hoko (isiXhosa), Mikae Delport (Afrikaans) and Anathi Gqozo (English) were the winners in the Junior competition.
