TENREC tackle Lady's Slipper Hike

Ladys Slipper

The atmosphere was alive and spirits high as we embarked on our ascent up the traditional Slipper route with our four-legged “Tour Guides” Sugar and Flea from Falcon Rock Country Restaurant in hot pursuit.

Our ‘front runners’ Woodridge College set the pace with Alex, Clarendon and ‘Herbie’ hot on their heels - the 31 strong hiking party slowly ‘dissipating’ into sizable groups of equal feat and brawn – happy to meet their match.
After what seemed forever for some, we saw the towering sights of our peak in the West. What a splendid sight!

After summiting, feeling replenished and content, we posed for ‘Canon’ and once again hurtled off on our second leg – the ‘New Route’ –, which became more adeptly referred to as the ‘Lost Leg’ after we failed to embrace our cairn indicating our waypoint home-ward bound.

Anyway, after much plundering through the undergrowth, 31 coal face-streaked ‘henchmen’ of the ‘Order TENRECIDAE’ traversed and bum skid their way home. What a memorial hike – Well Done chaps! Bravo! Thank You Falcon Rock for the most welcome slap chips and cool drinks afterwards! A definite for 2019!
