Alex celebrates Tata Madiba

On Friday 20 July, the Alexander Road High School Masibuyel’Embo cultural group commemorated Tata Madiba’s centenary in song and dance.

Masibuyel’Embo means ‘Going back to our roots’. The group danced to the iconic Mbongeni Ngema’s Vuma Dlozi and The Lord’s Prayer taken from the original soundtrack, Sarafina!

The culmination of the significant assembly was a poem written by Alex’s very own Mrs B. Scout, isiXhosa First Additional Language teacher.
