Alex host u14 Tournament
Alexander Road High School once again hosted a successful weekend of sport. Nineteen (19) schools descended upon the school to participate in the annual Alexander Road HS Under 14 Co-Ed Sports Festival, held on 11 – 12 March 2022. This ever-growing, unique event offers teams much needed pre-season preparation and the opportunity to gain match fitness and team cohesion.
This year, Alex has managed to grow the rugby event, while the boys under 14 soccer has also been introduced to the festival. Forty-four teams were entered, spread across six sports categories, including boys and girls hockey, netball, rugby and boys and girls soccer.
It was the first time this event was held since 2020, when Covid-19 restrictions prohibited any sports events taking place. However, the festival did not lose any of its luster, with some thrilling matches and an array of young talent on display.
Since its inception, this sports festival has given the young learners an opportunity to not only demonstrate their extraordinary sporting skills, but also to engage in healthy competition and to gather unique experiences with like-minded schools.
We wish to express our sincere thanks to our participants, the coaches and parents for their continued support and we look forward to an extraordinary edition in 2023.
