Alex officially celebrates its 70th birthday

Happy Birthday, Alex! Last Friday we celebrated our 70th birthday with an action-packed Founder's Day programme. After our opening assembly, the reunion groups and staff gathered in the Jubilee Quad for the unveiling of it's new name - The Glenda Boyes Jubilee Quad in recognition of Ms Boyes long and continued support of the school. The rest of the day consisted of a range of exciting activities from Beat and the Maths Fair to field games and the A-Factor talent contest. Those who visited the Heart were able to see the newly erected timeline of the school's history compiled and arranged by the '70s group' showcasing Alex's history of innovation and excellence. Friday morning also included the start of our reunion events with many Old Alexans seeing the wonderful new developments at our school as well as reminiscing with former classmates and teachers.
