Alexans Lift Off!

Last Wednesday, 25 July, 10 learners from Alexander Road High School participated in Nelson Mandela University’s Rocket-building Competition. The team of Grade 12 learners took top spot.
The learners had to design, build and launch rockets with only two plastic Coke bottles, some cardboard, tape and use water and compressed air as the fuel. The Alex team, ‘Science Lit’, whose rocket went the highest, consisted of Daniel Hamilton, Lauren Palmer, Luzuko Mavela, Allison Adams and Chadleigh Ownhouse.
