Protea takes Best Play at House Plays
Last week Tuesday Alex held the annual House Play Competition - the stakes were high, with acclaimed special judge (and Old-Alexan) Asipezi Jita on the panel, supported by our own Ms Povey and Mr Hamilton!
Three plays took to the stage, and the house was at points crying with laughter or cheering past the human ear frequency! Ultimately, Protea took home the award for Best Play with their version of 'Prince Charming's Complaint' - definitely no complaining here!
The House Plays are presented by top Grade 11 Dramatic Arts learners, who choose a play, cast, direct, produce, rehearse and stage the play (tech included!) from scratch. This is no easy feat - and they were all rewarded for their tremendous efforts with Heath winning 'Best Creativity' and Aloe taking the award for 'Best Director and Producer'!
Thank you to everyone who came to support - the Arts are alive and well at Alex, and we hope to see you again next year!
