Alex dominates VP Soccer Challenge

The girls' 1st soccer team of Alexander Road High School pulled off a very successful weekend at the VP Soccer Challenge, held at the Victoria Park High School Sports fields on 25 - 27 March. They reached the finals on Sunday against a formidable Sanctor High School.

The team played some entertaining football, remaining unbeaten in the Round Robin stages. They started the tournament well on Friday, winning their first two matches 7-0 and 6-0 against Hudson Park and Linkside respectively. Later in the day, they managed to beat VP 2-1 in a thrilling match.

They continued their winning form in the next two matches against Sanctor (1-0) and DSG (6-0) on Saturday. At the semi-final stage, Alex then secured their place in the final with another 5-0 victory. In the final against Sanctor, Alexander Road proved themselves winners of the tournament with a comfortable 3-0 victory.

Young Alexan, Caiden Adams, walked away as the tournament's top goal scorer, netting 12 goals, including two hatricks, while Charisma Oerson was awarded the player of the tournament. The team's coaches, Brendon Persens and Brendon Prince ,were announced as the best coaches in the girls' section.
