Well done Junior Debaters

On Saturday two teams of junior debaters competed in the NMU flipper competition, hosted by the Madibaz Debating Union. Competition was tough, with 22 team competing from as far afield as Mthatha and East London. Teams prepared two prepared motions and one unprepared motion. Each team won 2 of their 3 debates. Sigqibo Rasimeni, Amahle Zaka, Lisakhanya Bomvana and James Jeffries each received best speaker awards. Both teams ranked in the top 10 at the end of the tournament and Lisakhanya Bomvana won a medal for placing 2nd in the best junior speaker category. We are very proud of our debaters who have worked hard for their success and wish them well as they prepare for the provincial trials competition.
